Wellness refers to a person’s state of mental, physical and spiritual health. To achieve wellness a person must address all three of these aspects. When we say “mental” we are not just referring to your brain and intellect, but rather your feelings, emotions and thoughts. When we say “physical”, we are actually referring to your physical body. When we say “spiritual”, we are not referring to any particular belief system but rather the awareness that you are alive and charged by energy. Some believe that this “energy” has a higher intelligence, or soul, while others simply believe that this “energy” refers to one’s temperament or overall feelings. Whatever your personal belief system, a focus on this energy is critical towards achieving wellness.
